Backflip is seeking a curious, self-directed, and analytical Senior Product Manager. You will lead our FinTech lending experiences, focusing on understanding the needs of customers, operations, and capital partners. Your role involves delivering impactful lending solutions through the Backflip app, driving growth for both our business and our customers' businesses. You must quickly adapt, work independently, and balance priorities effectively. Your goal is to identify and address customer challenges, creating lending experiences that align with Backflip’s mission to make real estate investment accessible to everyone, while fostering significant business growth.
Your responsibilities encompass defining and guiding the product's roadmap, while also iteratively delivering on that roadmap to achieve our business aims. Working hand-in-hand with teams across design, engineering, data, and marketing, you will lead efforts to ensure we meet our collective objectives, driving our platform's growth. This role is not just about managing products; it's about leading with insight, inspiring change, and creating opportunities for our customers to succeed in the dynamic world of real estate investing.
This position is remote (U.S.) and reports to the Chief Product Officer. This is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor (~45 person company) working directly with executives in a fast-paced and well-capitalized startup (Series A).
- What You’ll Do:Immerse yourself in understanding customer pain points and opportunities to help their business thrive, recognizing the critical need to resolve these issues and take advantage of the opportunities.
- Create a product roadmap that addresses the customer pain points and use both quantitative and qualitative data to guide the strategy
- Break big goals into small, solvable pieces, and reliably prioritize to iteratively deliver high-value, while balancing immediate needs with long-term objectives.
- Use data to test hypotheses, challenging preconceptions to enhance product quality.
- Critically assess ideas and proposals, enhancing them with your insights.
- Coordinate with Design and Engineering leaders to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities and expectations throughout the development process.
- Strengthen ties across cross functional teams to guarantee a unified, customer-first approach in all endeavors.
- Keep a pulse on market trends and competitor movements, understanding their implications for our customers and adapting our strategies to continually serve them better.
Understand this role is intended to evolve as the company grows, and this person should be willing to work on various tasks that fall outside of the above listed responsibilities.
- Qualifications:Bring at least 5 years of product management expertise from dynamic settings, ideally with experience in B2B-SMB and/or B2C sectors like fintech, e-commerce, social media, or gaming.
- Possess a solid grasp of B2B-SMB product-led growth strategies, enabling effective collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Support teams.
- Exercise discernment in decision-making, knowing when to decline requests to maintain focus and when to take advantage of opportunities for quick wins that enhance team spirit.
- Embrace a systems thinking approach to problem-solving, valuing both incremental progress and the quality of what we deliver to customers.
- Exhibit a deep curiosity and commitment to enhancing the success and livelihoods of real estate entrepreneurs, translating their needs into actionable business objectives.
- Flexibly move between strategic discussions on OKRs and annual planning to hands-on product requirements, maintaining effectiveness across various levels of detail.
- While familiarity with Agile methodologies, continuous delivery, and tools like Jira are valued, we prioritize candidates who focus on driving our business forward by ensuring our customers are supported in reaching their goals through our products and services.

Compensation range for this role ranges from $160,000 - $190,000.
This includes Base Salary + Performance Bonus, and is based on a variety of factors including prior experience. In addition to a competitive market salary, Backflip employees receive equity stock options, 100% paid health care, a 401K + company match, among other industry-leading benefits.
