Hi, we’re Griffin! We’re the bank for companies who want to build and launch financial products.
Our context
We're rapidly heading towards a future where most of us access financial services through technology companies rather than high street banks. All sorts of companies are now embedding financial products into their apps and user journeys so that their customers can seamlessly make payments, manage expenses, take out loans, save, invest, and do more.
The problem is that companies are still dependent on legacy banking infrastructure if they want to offer regulated financial products. They need to either partner directly with an (slow-moving, risk-averse) incumbent bank and/or stitch together middleware from various Banking as a Service (BaaS) providers. This process is slow, expensive, and complex and makes it very hard for companies to get new financial products off the ground.

The Product Team
At Griffin, we believe that great organisations are those that focus on building great products for their customers. On that mission, it’s the product team’s job to shape our products and manage the complete development, launch, and growth of the product, co-ordinating support from other Griffin guilds.
Success in this role involves getting into the detail of product shaping and development to help better define our products, so that we can deliver better outcomes for customers. Financial services is a complex industry, and unpacking that complexity will be a key input into our product development process.
Who you are
The ideal candidate for this job will have most of the following:
- Experience as a Product Manager within FinTech or RegTech, ideally within one of banking or payments, compliance or KYC/KYB, or data and reporting.
- Experience across the whole product development lifecycle from discovery to deliver and iteration
- Experience in writing strategic product documents, managing and communicating a product roadmap.
- Experience working with engineering teams to translate the product vision into deliverable solutions that can be built, tested and taken to market.
- Experience of working closely with product designers and/or experience with the UX/UI design process.
- Previous experience of understanding customer needs, using this to shape your rationale and being the voice of the customer internally.
- You are a great facilitator who consistently makes sure everyone in the product team has what they need to deliver great customer outcomes.
- A track record of delivery - you have owned and delivered a key product or portion of a product before from end to end
- Demonstrated experience running customer research processes with both quantitative and qualitative methods as part of product discoveries.
- Comfortable spending a significant portion of your time focused on internal tooling, where internal teams are your customer.
What will you be doing here?
As a Product Manager at Griffin, you will...
- Lead one of our product teams, be responsible for one a core aspect of the Griffin platform
- Contribute to the vision and product strategy for the company. We don't yet have product market fit and you will play a leading role in helping us get there.
- Be the balance between market-fit and deliverability - core to the role is to be the bridge between customer needs (i.e. requirements) and engineering scope (i.e. specifications)
- Evangelise our product culture. Make sure we adopt product management best practice and maintain a strong focus on customer needs.
- Work with your team to help them define OKRs that fully align with the company goals.
- Prioritise customer and business problems that deliver outcomes that help product achieve its OKRs.

N.B: We have a small London office in Moorgate, and we are comfortable hiring people to work from anywhere in the UK. About half of the company is based within occasional commuting distance of London, the other half is full-time remote.
