Head of HR
Job Description
As the Head of HR, you will be instrumental in helping individuals and teams thrive, while fostering well-being and belonging. You will work closely with leaders and employees on engagement, development, team effectiveness, policy/ER, and performance management initiatives. You will make decisions guided by data, our values, and the well-being of the teams you support. And finally, you will find ways to bring our employees together, inspire them, and connect them more deeply to the web3 space and their colleagues.
What You'll Do
- Strategic partner to senior leaders in support of the organization’s people strategy; as the sole business partner, you will support all departments, both tech and operations (Engineering, Finance, Legal, Product, etc.)
- Provide leadership and management coaching to help the team operate most effectively, ensure an exceptional employee experience, and support achievement of organizational goals
- Support the design and execution of HR programs and operations across all stages of the employee lifecycle including onboarding/offboarding, performance cycles, development planning, team effectiveness, employees experience initiatives, DEI, and more
- Provide ongoing guidance to managers for employee relations matters including complex performance and behavior management and investigations in addition to supporting and responding to employee complaints in a timely manner and partner with external legal counsel as needed
- Lead planning and execution of quarterly company offsites from logistics, to programming and events
- Leverage data and relationships throughout the business to proactively identify and address talent issues before they impact the business, including attrition risk
- Own end-to-end change management process and planning associated with reorgs/role adjustments, leadership announcements, and changes to strategic direction
- Support Manager Development in the areas of inclusive behaviors, team effectiveness, and strategic management
- Design and lead org-specific people initiatives and projects
- Utilize engagement surveys and related people data to provide guidance and recommendations around strategy as it relates to culture, people growth and retention, performance, and org wide development opportunities
- Approach HR issues with an eye toward wellbeing, our values, compliance, and reducing risk
- Embrace openness and take action to foster a culture of continuous feedback across OpenSea
- Build excellent working relationships across HR and the business
Desired Skills
- 10+ years of HR/HRBP experience with prior leadership experience
- Strong business acumen with high curiosity
- Agile—ability to move fast and take ownership to make an impact for our employees and users by prioritizing the right things
- Strategic thinker—identifies the small (targeted) things that will have a big impact and clearly defines success
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and coach employees of all levels toward our values and mission
- Ability to solve new/unfamiliar problems creatively

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans across several internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $220,000 - $250,000 plus benefits & equity.
