DevOps Engineer - Cryptocurrency

Summary of Position:
Auros is looking for an experienced DevOps engineer who can ramp up quickly into supporting our high-performance infrastructure for trading digital assets. You’ll play a key part in building, deploying and supporting systems that execute millions of trades on CeFi and DeFi venues across the globe. In addition to supporting these trading systems you will implement solutions to interesting security, resilience and operational challenges in this fast-moving environment
Job responsibilities include:
- Participate in a daytime-hours on-call roster to support our trading operations.
- Maintain and improve our global infrastructure with high performance and reliability requirements.
- Improve and update the security infrastructure of a widely distributed company that operates in a high-risk environment.
- Engage and collaborate with other teams for system design discussions and improving DevOps processes.
- Development of internal tools and automation to accomplish infrastructure team goals.
- Application tuning and troubleshooting; you will keep abreast of changes to trading system features and deployment, providing guidance to developers looking to improve their application performance or reliability.
- Work closely with developers, traders and other staff to accomplish our firm’s goals.
Position Requirements:
- While not a requirement, experience working in the cryptocurrency industry and familiarity with running blockchain RPC infrastructure is beneficial. A strong interest in cryptocurrency and finance in general is desired.
- An SRE/DevOps professional with 3+ years experience managing Linux systems in a high-performance environment.
- Cloud management using Terraform, with experience in the AWS environment and ideally Azure.
- Proficiency in Linux admin and configuration management using Ansible.
- A strong background in container management, deployment, and orchestration. Kubernetes experience is good to have, strong basic docker skills are required.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation tooling, paricularly Prometheus/Grafana.
- This is not a network engineer role but a strong familiarity with TCP/IP and host-level networking is expected. Knowledge of networking management and routing in both a cloud and global SD-WAN environment is a plus.
- Ideally, you’ll have experience with low-level performance tuning across physical hardware, cloud instances, and network latency. We expect some experience in at least one aspect of performance optimization.
- Coding:
- Python and bash experience is a must.
- Javascript/Typescript or Go experience are nice to have.
- This role will involve a significant amount of automation and API coding.
- Cybersecurity experience and expectations:
- Strong knowledge of cloud security and IAM policies is required
- SIEM and threat management experience
- Understanding of network security and application of zero-trust principles
- Must know how to secure Mac and Linux endpoints
- Software supply chain security knowledge and experience will be desired, along with an understanding of vulnerability and secret scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
