Your responsibilities as a Controller include:
- Lead all aspects of the company's accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and other reports to provide insights to management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and optimize efficiency in financial operations.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers.
- Mentor and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Support strategic initiatives and special projects by providing financial insights and analysis to facilitate decision-making.
If you have the following experience, we would love to hear from you:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment, preferably within the fintech sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Expertise in technical accounting related to banking and/or credit card industries is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Previous experience in Treasury operations is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and mentoring finance professionals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
