About this roll* (Position Description and Responsibilities)
We are looking for a Chief of Staff for the FinTech business at Toast. The ideal candidate is a Senior Business Partner who would help the FinTech team drive strategic planning and business management across the organization, will be part of the FinTech Senior Leadership team, be a counselor to our broad leadership team, and drive successful select critical projects to a successful execution and completion. Additional details about the role include:
- Drive Business Management: Refine the Operating System(management cadence, decision making, goal setting process, etc.) for how the FinTech organization operates, drive accountability across the entire organization, develop and track OKRs (Objectives, Key Results)
- Drive Strategic Planning: Drive the Strategic Planning process to integrate corporate and business growth objectives, into an integrated strategy. This includes facilitating offsites with the senior leadership team.
- Strategic Counselor: Be a proactive counselor to the FinTech senior leadership team on strategic and business management issues, and influence FinTech’s overall trajectory.
- Provide leadership on select business initiatives: Drive execution and leadership oversight on select cross-enterprise strategic initiatives, and support select inorganic deals.
- Drive Communication and Engagement agenda: Quarterback communication and engagement strategy for 300+ strong global FinTech organization.
This is a great opportunity to lead a critical function with direct exposure to senior leadership, with clear succession into a business/LOB leadership role. The role reports into the General Manager for FinTech.
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience driving and influencing the business trajectory of a business with a track record of success:
- 5-7 yrs of Business Management, Management Consulting/Strategy, experience
- Exposure to financial services, and banking - payments, lending, and banking experience preferred
- Proven experience developing & maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders, and senior executives
- Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives to drive successful completion of the work
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences
- Excellent critical-thinking skills with ability to structure and solve complex business problems
- Strong experience in shaping organization’s strategy, business management framework, and making decisive bets to advance the business
- Strong work-ethic with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- BA/ BS or equivalent degree, preferably with a STEM or financial/ business discipline

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
Pay Range
$181,000—$290,000 USD
