Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, PayPal Savings Technology Lead will partner with clients and SYF teams to deliver affinity deposit solutions and coordinate new initiatives, technology oversight governance, support audits, participate in issue management and support the identification of key technology risks. This role will be responsible for oversight across cross functional and cross client teams to ensure compliance with Synchrony standards. It will be essential that this candidate has strong influencing skills, prior experience managing people and complex programs as well as a collaborative approach to building relationships in a cross-functional team environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provides vision, leadership, and strategy to drive technology programs related to the portfolio
- Partner with key stakeholders (including GMs, client functional leaders, product and technology leads, architects and other stakeholders) to implement affinity deposit products and features and provide ongoing communication through project execution
- Strong analytical and technical skill set used to drive requirements, testing and production validation
- Provide oversight over all the phases of SDLC including but not limited to technical requirements, design/architecture, build, testing, QA, and Production deployment
- Own technology L3 governance activities related to PayPal Savings, including the ongoing identification, assessment of key operational risks (RCSA’s) and the effectiveness of controls that address those risks.
- Hands-on experience working with scaled-Agile product teams, functional teams and technology teams
- Point person for client team for all internal and external audits, coordinating requests for documentation, and responses and closing audit findings, as well as all technology matters including BAU support and new initiatives
- Document IT oversight governance of key processes, reviews, controls, and governance processes, including but not limited to projects, production incidents, disaster recovery testing.
- Participate in issue management processes including Enterprise Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (EGRC) processes.
- Coordinate internal cross functional workstreams to ensure leadership is up to date on status of the program.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in leading large scale software projects internally as well as with partners OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of experience in leading large scale software projects internally as well as with partners.
- Prior experience as technical lead/technical project or program manager
- Experience owning and delivering a mission critical projects on time and within budget
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with partner as well as internal cross functional teams
- Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships at all levels across IT and Business Stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Adept and presenting complex topics, influencing and executing with timely / actionable follow-through.
Desired Characteristics:

- Experience in retail deposits, regulatory, or risk
- Experience dealing with sensitive data and software development in highly regulated environment

Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
