About the Role:

As a Business Development Representative BDR at Octav, you’ll be at the forefront of our sales process, embodying the drive and resilience necessary to introduce our groundbreaking platform to potential clients (DeFi & Web3 projects, protocols, DAOs). Your role is pivotal in building the foundation of our sales cycle, focusing on prospecting, initiating contact, and nurturing leads through various channels. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are unphased by the challenges of reaching out, getting rejected, and persistently following up, this position is your gateway to making a substantial impact within the DeFi space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting Mastery:
- Expertise in identifying and engaging our Ideal Customer Profile (DeFi protocols, DAOs, Web3 hedge funds) through extensive research and outreach, including emails, LinkedIn requests, Discord messages, Telegram DMs and more.
- Communication and Follow-Up:
- Sending messages, managing follow-ups, and utilizing creative communication strategies to engage potential clients.
- Relationship Building:
- Crafting new and clever ways to build relationships with potential clients, setting the stage for our Director of Sales to close deals.
- Trial Account Creation and Incentivization:
- Generating trial accounts and devising other incentives to encourage potential clients to explore Octav’s offerings.
- Feedback Loop:
- Collaborating closely with the sales and marketing teams to refine outreach strategies based on market feedback and performance metrics.
Requirements:
- Must be based in Canada, ideally in the province of Quebec. We will ignore applications outside of Canada.
- Proven experience (2 years) in a Sales/BD role with a strong background in building up a pipeline of warm leads.
- Expertise in DeFi: Deep understanding of DeFi nuances such as DAO infrastructure and treasuries with experience in voting as part of a DAO.
- Experience with CRM: Creating leads, taking notes, recording meetings, tracking and owning a CRM such as Pipedrive.
- Resilience in Outreach: Comfortable with high-volume outreach and the inevitability of rejection, viewing each no as a step closer to yes.
- Innovative Thinker: Ability to think outside the box and develop creative strategies for engaging with potential clients.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging according to the audience.
- Passionate about Web3: A keen understanding of Web3 and DeFi landscapes and a desire to shape its future.

A Day in The Life of a BDR at Octav
9:0-9:15 AM: Log into our virtual meeting platform, which remains open all day for easy communication. Grab your coffee or tea while reviewing your tasks for the day and sending any necessary updates to your team on Slack to prepare for your day.
9:1-:10:00 AM: Begin reaching out to potential clients or following up on previous communications to advance deals in the pipeline.
10:00-10:15 AM: Join the team standup meeting to discuss progress, challenges, and goals for the day.
10:15 AM-12:30 PM: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to strategize outreach efforts and refine messaging for specific client segments.
12:30-1:00 PM: Lunch break.
1:00-2:15 PM: Continue outreach efforts, engaging with leads through various channels such as emails, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms.
2:15-3:00 PM: Work on creating trial accounts and other incentives to encourage potential clients to explore Octav’s offerings.
3:00-4:00 PM: Coordinate with the sales team to schedule meetings or demos with qualified leads.
4:00-5:30 PM: Follow up with leads, address any questions or concerns, and provide additional information as needed to move them through the sales funnel.
5:30-7:30 PM: Wrap up the day by reviewing your progress, updating your CRM with any new information, and preparing for the next day’s tasks.
7:30-9:00 PM: Optional time to catch up on any outstanding tasks, research new leads, or participate in training sessions to enhance your skills.
